Bob Costas hosts "Costas on the Radio," a two-hour weekend show featuring conversations with newsmakers and significant figures from sports and other walks of life, as well as Costas’ own commentaries and observations.
"Costas on the Radio" launched in September 2006. Two editions of a 60-second daily vignette, "The Costas Cuts" and "The Costas Minute" were also launched later that year.
Costas has won nineteen Emmy awards. Uniquely, Costas has been nominated for Emmys in five different categories: play-by-play, hosting, writing, interviewing and journalism.
Costas has been named “National Sportscaster of the Year” an unprecedented eight times by his peers in 1985, 1987, 1988, 1991, 1992, 1995, 1997 and 2000.
Costas is a native of Queens, New York, and grew up in Long Island. He attended Syracuse University in New York, where he majored in Communications. He began his professional career at WSYR-TV and radio in 1973, while studying at Syracuse.
