Friday 11-16-2007 11:28am AK
Charlie O’Toole was born and raised in southeast South Dakota. He started his radio career at KVDB-AM in Sioux Center, Iowa, in 1971, and proudly boasts he has worked the Big Three Sioux’s, Sioux Falls, South Dakota at KISD-AM, Sioux City, Iowa at KMNS-AM, and Sioux Center, Iowa.
He made his way to Alaska in 1972 to work for KNOM-AM in Nome, and then moved to Anchorage and worked for KENI-AM in Anchorage, where he worked with Art Bell, known primarily as the founder and longtime host of the paranormal-themed radio program Coast to Coast AM. Sadly, an oath of secrecy keeps Mr. O’Toole from sharing his many adventures and misadventures with Mr. Bell. He also worked for KBYR-AM and KFQD-AM in Anchorage, and spent two years at KDLG-AM in Dillingham.
Eventually, Mr. O’Toole made his way to Fairbanks and now is the Program Director and the Morning Show and the Midday Report host on NewsRadio 970-AM KFBX.
